SOUND MOBILE

Mobile recording studio van on location with professional microphone collection

A fully equipped mobile recording studio available for music recording, live sessions, broadcast, and production across the UK.

Built around a Yamaha DM2000 console with 96 channel capability, 24 channels of RME remote preamps, Neumann monitoring, and an extensive microphone collection — this is a serious recording facility that happens to be on wheels.

Primarily used for music recording and live sessions, the Sound Mobile can also integrate with OB trucks to expand their audio capacity — useful for larger broadcast productions requiring additional channels or recording capability.

Available with operator or as dry hire. UK wide availability.

Q&A

Where does it operate?

Available UK-wide. Most bookings tend to be local to the job, but travel further afield is no problem — ideally I'd have at least one set-up day before the job to get the van in position and ready.

Can I hire it as dry hire?

Yes. Dry hire is available at £400 per day for the van itself. This includes a mileage charge of £0.48 per mile plus a non-refundable guarantee fee of £200 to cover the equipment. Get in touch with your location and dates for a full quote.

What do you need on location?

The van needs a reasonably level parking spot close to the recording location — it takes up roughly the space of an average car, so most sites can accommodate it without issue. It requires a mains power hookup on site, so please let me know what's available when booking.

Standard cable runs are up to 35 metres for analogue and up to 100 metres for digital. For longer distances, fibre can be hired in at an additional cost — worth flagging your location layout in advance so this can be planned and quoted accurately.
